Many reasons have been given for providing music education to children and others, including:

Develops an aesthetic sense

Motor and rhythmic development

Promotes cultural heritage

Promotes vocal and lanquage development

Promotes cognitive development and abstract thought

Teaches social and group skills

To truly benefit from musical
training a proven and encompassing program is necessary. For nearly 30 years, the Preparatory Division School of Music at the University of Utah has offered comprehensive musical training for pupils from 1st grade through high school, and adults. We offer a prelude to a lifetime of involvement in music, quality class instruction and private lessons in piano and organ to develop an enjoyment of music, performance abilities and musicianship skills.
